LAURA CLARK

HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist

Life is tough. We didn’t choose to be born into this world, nor did we choose our earliest life experiences. But these lay the foundations, and set out our initial resources, for understanding and engaging in the world.

We all need a bit of support at times, to reconnect with our true selves, build on our available resources or to navigate a particularly difficult experience or life adjustment. Often, despite our best efforts, we repeat patterns that do not help us get to where we want to be.

As an HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist, I aim to use my 13 years of therapeutic experience, to help you learn to navigate life the best you can.

I prioritise providing you with a compassionate and non-judgmental space to explore your past and current experienceswith genuine curiosity. I believe therapy is an active process and I draw from training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy(ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilise a Schema Informed CBT approach.

Working primarily to address interpersonal or emotional difficulties, I tailor an approach to support you as an individual, encouraging you to further develop your skills and be in a better position to live the life you want to lead.

I also work for the Scottish Prison Service with individuals whose emotion management, interpersonal skills, substance use, and sexual interests have contributed to risk and such problematic self-sabotage that has resulted in imprisonment. This work allows me to engage with individuals to assess andreduce risk, and to help them live better lives.

My fee is £120 a session.
