Most of us will experience mental health difficulties at some point during our lifetime. Being human is hard and sometimes life throws difficulties at us which can be hard to cope with. Our early life experiences can also play a part in how we see ourselves, other people and the world around us. Psychological therapy helps us to better understand our internal world and offers us ways to improve our wellbeing.

In my NHS role I work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in an Older People’s Community Mental Health Team where I specialise in working with people aged 65+ who are experiencing mental health difficulties and/or cognitive impairment. I also hold a post with the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme at the University of Glasgow where I play a key role in contributing to the delivery and development of quality assured clinical practice education and training for Trainee Clinical Psychologists.

I am trained in and draw on a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused-Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) in order to address a wide range of issues including but not limited to anxiety, phobias, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complicated grief disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and adjustment difficulties. My principal aim is to work with you to develop an understanding of your difficulties and to tailor a treatment plan which will assist you in reaching your therapy goals.

My fee is £120 per session.
